Bonjour,
This morning, we left the house at 8:00 to head to Bassam. After we got on the auto route (like the interstate), the clutch went out again. We couldn’t find a place to turn around. So, Joe thought we could make it to the grocery store that is inside of a mall area. That way we would have a place to wait while we waited for the mechanic to come. Joe tried to ease up to the stoplights so that we wouldn’t have to totally stop, but we did have to stop a couple times. He was able to get it started in gear. We made it to the grocery store.
The mechanic had gone out to Bassam this morning to work on Dan Post’s vehicle. Joe talked to the mechanic’s helper, and he was looking for parts and then coming to help us. Dan called Joe and said that his vehicle was back up and running and that he would head our way with the mechanic. They were able to temporarily fix the problem until they could get the other needed parts. Dan took us on home, and the mechanic took our vehicle to keep working on it.
So, we didn’t make it to Bassam or Bonoua as we had planned. Gilbert was disappointed that he didn’t get to see the boys. But, he was happy to see Uncle Dan. He kept talking to him all the way to our house.
The mechanic brought our vehicle back this afternoon. Joe didn’t have time to test drive it before church to make sure that the clutch is working. So, we rode to church with the Litsons. Lenell kept the boys at home since she goes to the Anyama church on Wednesdays.
Pray for Joanna Litson. She was running a fever this evening. She stayed with Margie during church. Please pray that she will be feeling better before they fly out tomorrow evening. Please pray also that the Litsons will have a safe trip home.
The church service went well. Romeo had a program all worked up. Several different groups sang a special. Joe preached a short message. A few people gave testimonies. Matt said a few words. Then, the people brought gifts and said their goodbyes. It was a sad service, but it went well. There were over 60 people there tonight. We had to pull out a couple extra benches because we ran out of seats.
