Missionary on Fire — About | Joe Consford

Missionary on Fire is a missions interview and storytelling project created by Joe Consford. Our goal is simple: preserve faithful gospel laborers and the convictions that kept them steady—so the next generation doesn’t lose what God has taught His servants on the field.

What Is Missionary on Fire?

Missionary on Fire is an ongoing archive of:

  • Missionary interviews (structured conversations that preserve a life, not just a highlight)
  • Missionary stories (true accounts from the field—wins, trials, humor, hardship, and the hand of God)
  • Classic sermons and messages that still kindle a burden for world evangelism
  • Written chapters and biographies developed from selected interviews for long-term preservation

This project is intentionally Baptist / IFB-friendly in tone and convictions. We care about doctrine. We care about the local church. We care about missions that lasts longer than a moment of enthusiasm.

Why This Project Exists

A lot of missionary history is disappearing in real time.

Many faithful missionaries never wrote a biography. Many gave decades of service in places few people can pronounce, much less visit. They endured language barriers, spiritual warfare, sickness, discouragement, political unrest, and personal loss—and they stayed faithful anyway.

But if those stories are not recorded, they often die with the generation that heard them in person.

Missionary on Fire exists to capture and preserve:

  • the surrender moment that shaped a life
  • the doctrine that anchored a ministry
  • the trials that refined a man
  • the lessons learned the hard way
  • the counsel that can strengthen young missionaries and pastors today

This isn’t about creating celebrity missionaries. It’s about honoring faithfulness.

How Missionary on Fire Works (Our Structure)

Most interviews follow a repeatable framework so the conversation becomes more than a testimony—it becomes a record.

  1. The Making of a Missionary — salvation, call, early influences
  2. The Fire Was Lit — defining surrender and conviction
  3. The Furnace — trials, discouragement, opposition, loss
  4. The Field — language, culture, evangelism, church planting
  5. The Philosophy — doctrine and ministry principles that guided decisions
  6. The Legacy — fruit that remains after decades
  7. The Charge — counsel to young missionaries, pastors, and churches

Because this structure stays consistent, Missionary on Fire becomes a usable library—not random clips.

About Joe Consford

My name is Joe Consford. I serve with my wife Laura and our family as Baptist missionaries, and our burden is to strengthen local churches and stir a love for world evangelism.

Missionary on Fire is part of that burden. It exists to preserve faithful lives and pass on the kind of convictions that don’t always fit into a social media clip—but can shape a young man for a lifetime.

Books and Written Stories

Digital platforms change. Algorithms shift. But printed stories endure.

Some Missionary on Fire interviews will be developed into written chapters and biographies designed to sit on shelves for decades and keep lighting fires in hearts long after a video is forgotten.

The Theme Is Faithfulness

Missionary on Fire does not revolve around personality.

Not platform.
Not popularity.
Not applause.

Faithfulness.

That’s the fire that lasts—and that’s what we’re preserving.
