November 2025 Mission Trip to Ghana

Our November 2025 Mission Trip to Ghana was a journey of faith, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. From the first travel day through ministry in Takoradi and our return home, every moment showed the Lord’s guiding hand. Below you’ll find a daily summary with links to the full posts. Thank you for praying, giving, and following along as we serve in West Africa once again.

Day 1 – Starting the Trip to Ghana

Bags packed, coffee in hand, and hearts full of anticipation, we began our journey from East Texas toward Houston. We said goodbye to friends at HOTS Coffee, double-checked passports, and loaded our gear. Travel days can be unpredictable, but every connection worked out perfectly. We could already sense that the Lord was arranging each step.

Day 2 – Washington D.C. Trip

Before our international flight, we spent the day in Washington D.C. The city buzzed with history and culture as we visited landmarks and prayed for the mission field ahead. Standing in the nation’s capital reminded us how small the world feels when God’s people are united by the Gospel.

Day 3 – Arrival in Ghana

After nearly nine hours in the air, we landed safely in Accra. The warm, tropical air and familiar bustle of taxis and vendors made it feel like coming home. From there we drove to Takoradi, watching roadside fruit stands and palm trees roll by. Tired but thankful, we settled in for a night of rest.

Day 4 – Sunday Fellowship and Memories

Our first Sunday back in Ghana was filled with joy. We sang hymns in Fante and English, greeted old friends, and worshiped together with believers we’ve known for years. The fellowship reminded us that the body of Christ stretches across continents.

Day 5 – Monday at the Boarding School

We started early with breakfast, then headed to Calvary’s Hope Academy to film new footage for the boarding-school project. Meeting the local inspector turned into a fun language exchange when I greeted her in Fante. That afternoon we spent with the Harrison Family. Dewain and Debora are super friends!

Day 6 – A Hot Day in Takoradi

The heat was relentless today! Sammy met with a seamstress to design new dresses, and the two bonded instantly over Pinterest patterns. Later we captured drone footage of the school building and stopped for Waakye from a roadside stand—a perfect Ghanaian lunch.

Day 7 – School Chapel and Evening Service

Sammy spoke in chapel, telling the story of David and Goliath, and did a fantastic job. We met local pastors, recorded more video, and ended the evening with fried tilapia, Banku, and sweet fellowship. It was a day of encouragement and blessing.

Day 8 – Busua Beach and Evangelism

We took a trip to Busua Beach, one of our favorite spots in Ghana. The ocean breeze, seashells, and laughter brought back years of memories. Later we joined in evangelism at Agona, where Gilbert, Sammy, and Evelin sang “It Is Well.” It was a perfect mix of rest and ministry.

Day 9 – Starting the Trip Back Home

We shared an early breakfast with the Ruckmans—pancakes, eggs, and a lot of laughter. Mrs. Ruckman, nicknamed “The Flash,” was everywhere at once! We boarded a bus bound for Accra and waited until every seat was filled before departure, which is just part of life in Ghana. The ride gave us time to reflect on all God had done.

Day 10 – Returning from Ghana to Texas

Our overnight flight from Accra to Washington D.C. was smooth and restful. I sat next to Tom, a man from Takoradi who was saved thirty years ago when a stranger knocked on his door in Minnesota. His story reminded me that simple obedience in sharing the Gospel can echo for generations.
