Bonjour,
This morning, we got started on laundry right away. The second phase was still off; the water pressure was very low because the pump is on the phase that was off. It took a while to fill the washer. As soon as that load finished, I started another one and started getting the first load on the line. The kids were helping me. We try to save the rinse water to use for the next load. I didn’t catch it in time the first time, and the bucket overflowed. Danny and Bonnie were mopping. Gilbert was moving the basket down the line as I put things on the line. About 9:30, the power came on in full force. Things went a little quicker after that. After I got everything on the line, it looked like it was going to rain, but it didn’t. So, we got four loads of laundry done today.
We just did pages today for school since we were running a little behind. They didn’t have much work to do today. About 11:00, they went up to play with the Luther kids while I put more clothes on the line and then got lunch ready.
After naps, we went up to the Luthers’ house for a while. On our way back down the hill, their dog followed us home. A man came out of the woods in front of us. He saw the dog and took off running. The dog chased him. Then, the man yelled at me about not having the dog chained up. I tried to explain that it was not my dog.
Bonnie was helping me do the dishes tonight. I was washing, and she was rinsing. Each time that she picked a dish up, she asked, “Is this glass? Will it break?” When we made it through the silverware, I was glad! She did the silverware one piece at a time and asked the same two questions about every piece.
Joe spent the entire day on the side of the road watching the mechanics work on the vehicle. They got everything put back together just as the sun was going down, but the car wouldn’t start. Joe told them that they had not put the fuel lines back in the right places, but they wouldn’t listen. So, they will work on that in the morning. Hopefully Joe will be able to come home tomorrow with a working vehicle. We have decided to postpone our trip up north for a week so that we can make sure the vehicle is in good running order before we set off on a journey.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
