A Day Full of Adventure – Monday 04/15/24

This morning, I slept in a little, because we did not have to leave the house until 8:45. Once I got up, read my Bible, and ate breakfast, I got my things ready for our day of adventure. When I say things, I mean my drone, camera, battery packs, etc. Once I had everything ready and put in the car, I sprayed the house for bugs. After the spraying was done, we locked up and headed over to pick up Bro. Sammy and Mrs. Annette.

Once we had picked them up, we started our drive to Kakum National Park. For those who may not know what that is, it is a national park like any other, but with a very nerve-racking attraction. First, you walk up a steep trail to a platform. From the platform to a tree standing out in the open is a rope bridge; from that rope bridge, there is a series of other rope bridges connected to different trees and different platforms. Second, take a step of faith out onto these rope bridges that have been in place for 29 years (if I remember correctly). They say that no-one has fallen and that there have been no accidents; but I think that is what anyone would say, even if something had happened. Thirdly, for those afraid of heights (like myself) grip the rope tightly, look straight ahead, and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

These are all things that I did. I am deathly afraid of heights, but somehow I managed to make it across all 6 bridges without having a complete mental breakdown. I was shaking the entire time and scared for my life, but I sang songs and followed those those in front of me. On the second or third bridge, I decided to fly my drone up and take a video of me and Bro. Sammy walking across one of the bridges. I was barely able to fly the drones because of how much I was shaking. I was able to fly the drone up, get the video, and land it without me or the drone falling over. Bro. Sammy and Bro. Ruckman are definitely not the best companions on a rope bridge, especially when they know you are afraid of heights. Even though I was really freaked out, I was still able to get some pretty cool pictures and drone footage.

Just for your information, none of these pictures have been edited. I wanted to get them out to y’all as soon as possible. Also, there may be a few more pictures over the next few days from this adventure.

Once we got back to the truck, we drove back to Cape Coast where we had KFC for lunch. After lunch, we started our drive back to the house. We did have a few stops, our first stop being a beautiful stretch of the Ghana coastline where I was able to get some cool picture and videos. We then continued our drive until we came to our second stop, which was a village that sells a huge variety of fruits. Mrs. Angie, Bro. Sammy, and Mrs. Annette were able to go out and find some delicious fresh fruit; then, we continued on. From there, we did not have anymore stops, except for one stop for water.

We had a great time, but all great things must come to an end. It ended with us dropping off Bro. Sammy and Mrs. Annette. We laughed just about the entire day. Once we had dropped them off, we headed back to the house. We had a late lunch; so, we all had a smoothie for supper and then headed up to our rooms for the evening, (after we shared our pictures with each other, of course.)

I am now in my room working on the blog, adding pictures to the blog, and then I am going to get cleaned up and head to bed after a very long but extremely fun day.
