This morning, Joe worked on getting the rest of our stuff that was still down at the other house.  We had some mattresses, chairs, and a few other things still down there.  The Aarons are coming to visit us next week.  We are getting the guest room ready for them.

Bonnie was on a roll this morning. She was helping me do dishes. She said, “Mom, what if we put a little cup inside of an a-dult (She says the short a sound and then dult.) cup? That would be amazing!” Then, during breakfast, she spilled some chocolate milk on her dress. She said, “Look what I done, Mom! That’s the story of my life!”  Later, she asked me if Thumper, our dog, would go to heaven.  I told her that dogs don’t go to heaven.  She said, “Well, maybe some of them do.”  “Amazing” must have been her new word for the day because she said it several times.

Thumper had big welts all over him today.  We had the vet come.  The vet said it was eczema, but we are pretty sure it is mango worms.

One of the ladies who was coming to do some baking got here a little after 9:00.  The other two didn’t get here until after 10:00.  Ordeth and I started with sugar cookies while we waited for Harriett and Clara.  The kids helped us with the sugar cookies too.  They were each taking a turn putting an ingredient in.  The boys soon moved on to other things.  Bonnie stayed in the kitchen most of the morning.  We got the sugar cookie dough in the refrigerator.  While we were making an apple cake, the other two ladies came.  We all worked on a pineapple upside down cake.  Then, they made oatmeal cookies.  We had fun, and they were excited about learning how to bake some things.  Next time, they want to learn how to make pizza and brownies.

We had a water truck come today to fill the pool and top of our holding tanks so that we will have plenty of water while the Aarons are here.  The kids swam in the full pool this afternoon.  Joe sat out there and watched them swim.  He carried one of the recliners that he had brought up from the other house over to the gazebo.  I told him he looked like a redneck sitting there in that recliner.  I think he took that as a compliment.  Oh dear!

I did a little more sewing this afternoon and this evening.  The kids wanted to push the pedal for me, but I did not have that much patience.

It is hard to believe that the OKC bombing took place seventeen years ago today.  I was sitting in the college library when it happened.  The windows shook, and we thought it was a sonic boom until someone turned the news on and heard about the explosion downtown.  I remember being in the college choir and going down to sing to the rescue workers.
