Bonjour,
The kids helped Joe out in the yard this morning. The kids picked up the yard so that Joe could mow. Joe said that he didn't realize how big the yard was until he started mowing. He didn't get it all mowed today. It was a hot day. Joe and Gilbert both got a sunburn.
I started working on curtains again. I worked on valances for the master bedroom today. I got one set of windows done and have another set to go.
The kids went swimming after they finished their work. They had fun. Danny came running to the door and said, "We have an emergency. There is a water scorpion in the pool. " It's not an actual scorpion; it is just a big bug. I went out to help them, but they had already gotten it out of the pool. There have been a few real scorpions in the pool; they are always on the lookout.
After naps, Bonnie helped me in the kitchen. We made tacos for supper.
We had a good night at church with twelve in attendance. There was a big beetle right next to the pulpit. Gilbert was worried that the beetle was going to crawl up Joe's pant leg and bite him. (Gilbert got bit by a beetle in the pool the other day.) The beetle got close enough for Gilbert to stomp on it. After he killed it, he was then concerned about the bug guts on the floor. I told him to quit worrying about the bug and listen to the message. Bonnie had been sitting with other people during the evening services, but she wasn't staying in her seat. So, she had to sit by me tonight. She did better. Danny likes to try to copy my notes. He thinks I should be writing constantly though. He leaned over and said, "You're not writing everything he says." He hasn't quite gotten the idea of what taking notes is yet. Joe preached a good message out of John 8.
Some big ants have been congregating right outside the kitchen door. Some of them had ventured inside tonight. We went to war with the ants when we got home from church. There is a cricket right outside somewhere that I would like to do battle with; he sounds like a tea kettle.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
