Bonjour,
Joe talked to the mechanic this morning. The vehicle still isn’t finished. Joe ran some errands with Charlie this morning.
We did school. Both boys had a cutting project today. They were happy about that. We had an alphabet contest. Gilbert won, but Danny got most of them right too.
At nap time, the power went off. Gilbert and Danny both got up, but Bonnie slept for a while. The power was only off for about twenty minutes. The boys were playing outside and came in carrying a little chick. They had found it in the bushes and wanted to keep it. Gilbert was trying to think of something that he could feed the chicken. Francis, the guy who works in our yard, told them that he had chickens at his house and that he could take it so that it would have a hen to take care of it. Gilbert and Danny wanted to go with him to take the chick to its new home. He doesn’t live very far away; so, he told them that they could go with him and he would bring them back. Shortly after they left, Bonnie woke up and wanted to see the brothers. She stood by the window crying for them. Then, she said, “I need to go find them, but I need someone to go with me.” I had no idea if we could actually find them, but we headed off in that direction. Just when I was about to turn around and head back home, we found them. Bonnie got to hold the chick and was excited about that.
After we returned from that adventure, I walked up to the Luthers’ house with the kids. Bonnie was playing with baby dolls. She brought them to me and told me that they were her cousins. She told me not to drop her cousins. She picked one up and said, “Wait, Mom, I need to turn her heart on.” Bonnie and I headed home before the boys did.
Danny was running down the hill on his way home. He tripped and hit his head. He has a big goose egg right in the middle of his forehead and a scrape down his nose. Gilbert hurried home to report that Danny got hurt because he was doing two things that he wasn’t supposed to do – running down the hill and wearing his shoes on the wrong feet. Danny was upset because some people saw him fall, and they were laughing at him. He said, “That wasn’t very funny, was it, Dad?”
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
