Bonjour,
Joe took Danny to the Emergency Room this morning. We thought he might
have pneumonia. The doctor said that he had bronchitis and possibly
asthma. He said that it would have been pneumonia if we had waited much
longer. He prescribed several different medicines.
After Joe brought Danny back, he took a group of people to Agboville for
the funeral of Roger's father. Roger worked for us for several years
and recently went back to work for the electric company. They had said
that the funeral would be at 9:00 A.M. After they arrived, they found
out that the funeral was at 14:00.
Joe said that it poured down rain during the funeral. There were
coffins floating up to the surface.

Joe and Danny saw a head-on collision take place this morning. Then,
this afternoon on the way back from the village, they had a close call.
A tree had been cut down and was lying across half of the road. An
18-passenger vehicle came over into Joe's lane to miss the tree. It was
coming down a hill without brakes and couldn't stop. Joe saw it coming
at them. He put the vehicle into reverse quickly and backed into the
jungle. There was a vehicle coming up behind Joe, and he was upset at
Joe at first until he saw the 18-passenger vehicle headed straight for
him. He jumped over the hood of his car into the brush. The
18-passenger vehicle just barely missed his vehicle. The people with
Joe and the driver of the vehicle behind Joe thanked him profusely for
paying close attention as he was driving. They said that if it had not
been for Joe's quick reaction, they all would have been dead. When Joe
pulled into the driveway this evening, he said, "Some days it feels good
just to be alive!" Praise the Lord for his watch care over us, and
thank you to all those who pray for us so faithfully.
Danny's breathing sounds a lot better than it did last night. He is
still pretty miserable. Hopefully he will sleep better tonight than he
did last night.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
