Bonjour,

We drove to church in our own vehicle this morning!!  You can tell that it has been a while since we have had our vehicle when Bonnie looks out the window and says, “Look, Mom!  We got a new car!’

Joe taught the adult Sunday school this morning.  I helped April in junior church.  There was another church meeting after the service this morning.  We had invited Kristine and Becky for lunch.  So, Joe took us, Kristine, Becky, April, and all of the Luther kids home.

When Gilbert prays at meal time, he usually says, “Bless the food to our bodies.”  For some reason, Danny says, “Bless our bodies to our head.”  Gilbert gets so frustrated with Danny for saying that.  The first time Danny said it, it was an accident; now, he just does it to get a rise out of Gilbert.  Gilbert has heard it said so many times that he can’t remember the right way to say it when he gets in the middle of his prayer.  He opens one eye and says, “Bless our, bless the,” and is waiting for Mom or Dad to help him out.  Bonnie is a bit charismatic.  She prays right along with them, “Amen for the blessings; amen, bless the blessings.” It is hard to keep a straight face during prayer time around here.

We had a good time of fellowship with Becky and Kristine.  They did the dishes for me after lunch.

Bible club was this afternoon.  The kids wanted to go.  It was right at nap time.  I let them go.  Bonnie fell asleep in the grass during Bible club.  April tried to carry her home, and Bonnie woke up on the way home.  So, Bonnie didn’t go back to sleep.  Danny slept for about thirty minutes before he was awakened by Bonnie.  Gilbert didn’t take a nap; he played “Red Rover” with all of the African kids who came for Bible club.  Everyone made it through church without falling asleep though.

Joe preached tonight.  He did a good job.  The church is going through a rough time right now in their transition from a missionary to a national pastor.  The national pastor resigned today due to some problems in his life.  So, it was a big blow to the church people.  Pray for the people of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church that another national would step up to the plate.

After church, we took Kristine and Becky home so that they wouldn’t have to catch a taxi.  We visited with them for a little bit.  Then, we headed home.  Just as we got to the bottom of the hill where we turn to go to the house, the car died.  Joe had been watching the temperature gauge and knew that it was running a little hot.  He got out and discovered that the top of the radiator had melted off.  Apparently the glue that they used was not heat resistant.  So, it looks like we will be getting a new radiator next.  But, it did not appear to damage the head at all.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
