Bonjour,
Joe headed into Abidjan at 8:00 this morning. The office opened at
9:00. He and Dan were able to complete the paperwork for the Carte de
Sejour, but they couldn't pick up the card until 15:00. They went to
the driver's license place with their receipt for their Carte de
Sejour. But, the receipt wasn't good enough; they had to have the
actual card. By that time, it was lunch time. They went to eat and
were back at the office at 15:00. They headed back to the driver's
license office after picking up their cards from the other office. It
was almost 16:00 by the time they completed the paperwork. Joe did get
his temporary license and will pick up the actual license tomorrow
afternoon.
This morning, I made chicken enchiladas to take to Tammy and Kristine's
house for lunch. Lenell picked up me and the kids at 11:00. We headed
to Bingerville. We had a good visit with Tammy and Kristine. Tammy is
recovering from typhoid fever. She has had it several times now; she
seems to be regaining her strength. Kristine arrived about a week and a
half ago. It was fun to get to know her a little better.
Gilbert wanted to play with Luc Mach. The Machs live right across the
street from Tammy and Kristine. Luc was taking a nap. He came over
when he woke up, but it was almost time for us to leave. Gilbert was
very sad that they didn't have time to play baseball. He asked if they
could play it for just a few short minutes. Danny took a nap. As I was
taking him to the car, he asked, "Where's Luc?" He did get to see him
for a minute. Bonnie showed everyone that she can crawl.

We picked up some food for supper on the way home. While we waited for
the food, we had an ice cream cone. Danny and Gilbert had ice cream
everywhere!
Lenell got stopped by the police on the way home. They told her that
she needed to get her Ivorian license. Her international license is
expired (according to the new 90-day law), and they wanted to fine her.
It was a policewoman that stopped us. She called the big boss over, and
he told her that she had a year from the date of entry in her passport
since the new 90-day law has just recently gone into effect. So, she
technically has until April. He didn't make her pay the fine.
Joe got home shortly after we did. We were all happy to see Daddy.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
