Bonjour,

Joe headed into Abidjan today to find out more about the paperwork for
the visa. He was able to get a lot of information; there is a lot of
paperwork that needs to be done before the proper visa can be obtained.

While Joe was checking on that, Dan Post called. Dan had gone to get
his Ivorian driver's license renewed. They wouldn't even let him in the
door without a Carte de Sejour. This is a card that is usually required
for staying in the country. For the last several years, they had not
been doing those. But, since they have started the visas back up,
everything is back up and running. So, Joe and Dan worked on getting
their Carte de Sejour paperwork in order today. They both had to get a
paper from the city where they live; that was the last thing on their
list for today. They will go back in the morning to submit the
paperwork and then hopefully be able to get their driver's licenses.

Joe has been stopped by the police several times. They are really
starting to check all of the paperwork and clamp down on things. They
keep reminding him that he has until February 1 to get his Ivorian
license; he keeps telling them that he is working on it. Please pray
that they will be able to get all of the necessary paperwork tomorrow
for getting the driver's license.

The children and I got some things done around the house. We picked up
toys so that we could vacuum. The boys both like to help vacuum.

A little later, Danny asked to watch a movie. I told him to wait a
minute. When I went back out to the living room, he had the book of
movies out on the floor. He is not supposed to get it out by himself.
I asked him if he got the book out. He said, "No, Mom, it jumped!"

Bonnie is starting to crawl. She got stuck a couple times today. She
is moving forward now.

Gilbert didn't want to take a nap today because I said that he could fly
the helicopter after naps. So, he stayed in his bed for a few minutes.
Then, he came out and said, "I woke up." He had to go back to bed. As
soon as he woke up, his first question was, "Can we fly the helicopter?"

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
