Bonjour,
This morning, Joe gave the kids their surprises. He bought tennis racquets and tennis balls for the boys. He found a baby doll for Bonnie. She had requested a pink girl before he left.
Joe headed to the mechanic shop this morning to work on putting the new head on. The mechanic had a new torque wrench but didn’t know how to use it. So, Joe did that part himself. When they finally got it all back together, one of the injectors had a crack. They got that fixed. Then, they got the vehicle started and it ran for a minute before water came gushing out. The new head from Japan was missing the two freeze plugs. So, they will try to make some freeze plugs tomorrow and try it again. Joe came home about 6:00 in a taxi.
We did school pages. About 10:30, we went up the Luthers’ house. April kept all of the kids. Charlie took Julie, Becky, Kristine, and me grocery shopping. We were showing Becky and Kristine where to find different things. We got back about 3:00 and ate leftover soup at the Luthers’ house. April had fed the kids and put them down for naps. Bonnie and Danny were still sleeping. I woke them up about 4:00, and we headed home.
The boys have been collecting things for the burning pile since last week. Joe had told them that they would burn it when he got back. Gilbert came in about 5:00 and asked if Daddy was going to be home before dark. I said that I didn’t think that he would. Gilbert was sad. He said that they had waited for a week to burn their pile. So, I went out there with a box of matches. Matches and I don’t get along very well. The wind kept blowing them out. I used all of the matches that were left in that box and still didn’t have a fire going. So, I went back inside for more matches and a piece of paper. We got it going after a few more tries. After we finished with that, I headed inside to make supper. Joe got home shortly after that.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
