Bonjour,
This morning, Joe and Dan went to visit the family of a girl who attends Dan's church. She is eleven years old and was hit by a taxi while crossing the highway to dump the trash. She is in a coma. They don't think that she has any brain damage.
We did school. Gilbert went out to take a break. But, he came right back in and said that he wanted to finish his work so that he could be the first one done. After he bragged about being the first one done to the Post boys, Isaac got busy and did part of tomorrow's work today. They are in competition now!
This afternoon, Dan took Jennifer and me to a couple little stores in Bassam so that we could get out of the house a little bit. We found a few grocery items and a couple Christmas presents. We are hoping to be able to do some Christmas shopping in Abidjan, but we don't know if we will be able to do that.
When we got back, the kids wanted to know what I bought. I told them that I got some groceries and some Christmas presents. They wanted to know what the presents were. I told them that it was a secret and that they had to wait until Christmas to find out. Gilbert wanted to know how many days it was until Christmas. Bonnie said, "I need to call Grandpa. I need to tell him a secret, and you can't know, Mommy." She needed to have a secret too.
Things seem to have gone back to business as usual for the moment. But, when it comes time for those employed by the government to be paid, there will probably be trouble. Due to sanctions put on the country, it may be difficult to get money. So, we are planning to withdraw money tomorrow and then bunker down for awhile longer.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
