Bonjour,
Our internet was down last night. So, I'll catch you up on both days.
Joe went visiting yesterday morning. He got home as we were having Bible Club. We had twenty-three.
Joe had been asked to be on the ordination committee for Jones Frazier at Brother Morgan's church. He left the house about 3:30 and got home after 8:00.
While Joe was gone, the group that is visiting from the States stopped by. They had said that they might come by. The kids had been watching for them all day. The youngest person in the group is sixteen, but the kids were just excited to be around white people I guess. We thought that they weren't coming; so, we were outside trying to burn some more of the dead tree when they pulled up. I made cookies earlier in the day and had made brownies on Friday. I carried some desserts and drinks outside for everyone. One of the older men in the group gave each of the kids $10; he told them it was for their birthdays. The kids wanted to find their wallets right away. I told them to let me hold onto it so that we could get it exchanged into cedis for them.
After supper, I played a game with the kids.
This morning, we left the house early. We met at our church and then went to Inchaban from there. About forty people from our church went with us. We rented a van for some of the passengers. Today was Evans Benyah's first Sunday morning service in Inchaban. We had quite a crowd there with those visiting from the States and those who came from our church. We met at a school today because the building that he is renting is not ready yet. Some of the ladies and teenagers from the visiting group helped with the children's services outside. We had fifty-six outside with the children and helpers. The adults met inside the classroom and had good services.
After church, the visiting group invited us to go to lunch with them. The children and I rode with them in their bus, and Joe took people home before coming to the restaurant. It took awhile for the food to come, but we had a good time of fellowship. Gilbert's order did not come until we were done eating, and it wasn't what he had ordered. But, we had all shared some of our food with him, and he was fine.
We came home and got a short nap in before heading back to church. Brother Charlie Russell preached a good message about David tonight. Danny heard the other men saying "Amen," and he said it really loud. Everyone smiled when he said it. During testimony tonight, Danny said that he was thankful for missionaries who go to church. (He was referring to the visitors from the States, but everyone got tickled about missionaries going to church.)
Brother Russell's wife is with him. Her name is Betsy. Tonight, Bonnie took her doll named Betsy and a book with pictures of "her Betsy in Texas" to show Mrs. Betsy.
Gilbert enjoyed riding on the bus and sitting with Mrs. Crystal. He asked her if he could sit by her at the restaurant since she was his friend.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
