Bonjour,
Joe had planned to leave for Ivory Coast today, but the brakes went out on the vehicle. He took the vehicle to the mechanic this morning and came home in a taxi.
LF, a man who works for us, found one of the bars from the porch in the bushes today. There was a long board in the bushes as well which had been used as a pry bar to break the bar out. On closer inspection, we found that the screen from the kids’ bedroom window had been ripped out, and the window was slightly ajar. At some point during the weekend, someone tried to break into our house. We have a guard at the house when we are not here, but he must not have heard them. We must have come home just as they were getting the window open and scared them away. Praise the Lord that the brakes went out so that Joe was still here today! The welder came and put the bar back in place. We are thinking about what to do to make the house more secure. Joe has cancelled his trip to Ivory Coast for the time being.
The kids did not have school today. The teachers needed a day to put their classrooms back together after the revival last week. The kids enjoyed another day to play.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
