W'apow mu e,

I am feeling halfway alive today.  I think I am on the mend.  I took it easy today.

Joe went into town to get groceries this morning.  We are having the Rock of Ages group over for supper tomorrow night.  So, he went to get the things that we need for that.  He had seen a small charcoal grill for sale at one of the stores in town the other day.  He stopped at the grocery store first to order the hamburger meat so that they could grind it.  He also ordered the bread and potatoes. Instead of waiting around for them to finish with the meat, he went to the other store to get the grill and then went back to the grocery store.  He said that it was a good thing that he had put his order in because a man from one of the oil companies had come in after him and ordered 25 kilos of potatoes, 17 loaves of bread, and 20 kilos of hamburger meat.  We would not have gotten anything if we got there after that man did.  Joe said that he has never seen that little grocery store as busy as it was today.

Around 2:00, someone from the school called to say that Gilbert was throwing up.  It was 106 degrees today.  Gilbert's classroom is in the attic of the school building.  We think he got too hot.  He has been throwing up all evening.  He hasn't had a fever yet, but we will keep a close eye on him for signs of malaria.  Since school was almost over, Joe just brought all three kids home a little early.

Joe met with some people in the church this evening.  Gilbert wanted us to watch a movie with him.  He did not move from the couch other than to run to the bathroom.  Bonnie and Danny were both taking care of Gilbert.  Bonnie was talking to Papa and Nana on the phone today and said, "Sweet Baby Gilbert is sick.  He puked at school, and Daddy had to come and get his sweet baby Gilbert."  That is the first time I have heard Bonnie use the words "sweet" and "Gilbert" in the same sentence; they don't always see eye to eye on things.  Bonnie and Danny both fell asleep in the living room.  Gilbert wanted to be carried to bed too since he was sick.

Nantsew yie!
