December Prayer Letter
God has been very good to our missionary family during this season of deputation. We have logged many miles on the road, and the Lord has protected us mile after mile.
Recently, while traveling from Kentucky to Missouri, we passed through Illinois late at night and could see the St. Louis Arch in the distance. Suddenly, the truck made a loud pop, and we lost power steering, brakes, the alternator, and the engine cooling system. The main serpentine belt had broken—certainly not where you want to break down.
Thankfully, the truck would still run if I was careful. By watching the temperature gauge closely and driving about 30 miles per hour, I was able to make it across St. Louis. When the batteries finally died about eight miles from our hotel, we called a tow truck to finish the trip.
The next morning, the pastor met me at the hotel and helped repair the truck in the parking lot. I am thankful the Lord allowed us to get it fixed quickly. Since then, the truck has been running much better, even getting improved fuel mileage. While making the repair, I also discovered and fixed another small issue, which has made our travels smoother.
We were able to spend Christmas with Laura’s family in Oklahoma City. Having Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie together with us was a great blessing, and we enjoyed precious family time.
Please pray for us as we have many miles ahead in January. Gilbert will be traveling to Mexico City with Bible Tracts Inc., and Danny will be going to the Philippines on a medical missions trip. God is steadily adding supporting churches, and we are nearing 40% of our needed support. Please pray that our support comes in quickly. We have much work ahead in West Africa and are excited about getting there soon.

Exciting times. We are praying for you as you go.
