Bonjour,

Today is Bonnie’s third birthday.  In some ways, three years have gone by very quickly; in other ways, it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago.  As most of you know, one hour after Bonnie was born she went into respiratory distress due to Wet Lung Syndrome.  Excess fluid in her lungs caused an infection.  She was in an incubator on oxygen and antibiotics for the first five days of her life.  It was a scary time, but it was so evident that people were praying for her.  After she recovered from that, she was just fine.  Isn’t the Lord good!
It rained all night last night and continued to rain this morning.  Many things flooded.
I got up early this morning to make cookies for April’s last Sunday. Bonnie joined me in the kitchen about 6:00. Then, after everyone else was up, Bonnie got to open the rest of her presents.
We ate breakfast and headed to church.  We had to put the vehicle in 4-wheel drive to get to church.  Much of the road was under water.
This is the bridge that we have to cross to get to the main road.  The creek had come over the bridge, but we were able to get across.
Part of the front wall at the church fell down.
We waited a while to see if any more people would come.  Not many kids came.  We had a cookie party while we waited.  We ended up with 20 people there.  One lady who lives over an hour away made it there somehow.
The rain continued all through the service.  Joe cancelled the evening service since we didn’t think people would be able to get there.
The church presented April with an outfit for all that she has done for the church in the year that she has been here.  After the presentation, Joe did not dismiss the children for junior church.  Danny was just devastated that he did not get to go to his class.
We were the taxi service after church so that people wouldn’t have to wade through the high waters.
It was still sprinkling a bit this afternoon.  Kids still came for Bible club though.  I went today so that I could meet the kids.  I will take over next week.
We are enjoying our evening at home.  Joe has been helping the kids do some puzzles that Bonnie got for her birthday.  We are just about to have our evening service.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
