Bonjour,
This morning, the power went off a little after 8:00. I called to report the power outage. They informed me that the power would be off until 5:30 this evening because they were doing some repairs today. Joe fired up the generator before he went visiting.
I spent most of the day in the kitchen. I made cupcakes (white cake with pink frosting – Bonnie's birthday request) and a Texas sheet cake. Bonnie's birthday is tomorrow, but we had a party this evening. We also surprised Julie Luther, Josh Luther, and Becky Pope, who also have birthdays in June. I made chicken chimichangas and beef tacos for supper.
The kids went up to play with the Luther kids this morning for the last time for a while. The Luthers leave on Monday to go back to the States for six months. Julie is going to have the baby in the States.
Kristine was coming back to Takoradi today after being in Togo for a couple weeks. Joe told her to get off at the OJK fuel station and we would pick her up and take her home. She got off at the OJK Station in Inchaban, which is about thirty minutes away from Takoradi. Our phone service was down for a while; so, she couldn't call to tell us that she had arrived. Joe realized that she wouldn't be able to call us. We went to the OJK station, and she wasn't there. He saw the bus that she should have been on go past and she did not get off the bus. Joe borrowed someone's phone and got in touch with her. She said that she was at the OJK Station just past the police barricade; then, he knew that she was in Inchaban.
We had a good time tonight. Becky, Julie, and Josh were all surprised. I didn't tell the kids that we were celebrating anyone's birthday other than Bonnie's so that they wouldn't say anything and let the cat out of the bag.
I was going to try to get some cookies made for April's Sunday school class since tomorrow is April's last day. Maybe I'll get up early and make some in the morning. I think everyone is ready for bed tonight!
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
