Joe and the kids made it to school early once again.  They called me before they went in the gate.  Everyone sounded happy this morning.

Kristine and I left the guest house just after 7:00.  A taxi came along right away.  He said that he knew where the Takoradi Bus Station was, but he didn't really know.  After he asked another taxi driver about it, he found it.  We got on a bus and waited for it to fill up.  Then, we sat still in traffic for about an hour as we were leaving Accra.  There was some road construction that was causing the delay.  After that, the trip was uneventful.  It rained most of the way home.

The bus dropped us off at a gas station which is not too far from our house.  Joe met us at the gas station and brought us home.  I unpacked my bags so that the kids surprises would be ready for them when they got home from school.  Then, I took a little nap.  I have a sore throat now.  I think that Kristine and I both got the cold that the kids had last week.

The kids were so excited when they got home.  They had fun looking at their surprises.  

After school today when Danny's class was filing by Joe, some of the kids in Danny's class told on Danny.  They said, "Danny cried today.  The teacher told him he had to go see the headmaster (principal); Danny started crying, and she told him to sit back down."  We asked Danny what happened.  At first, he said that he didn't remember.  Joe told him that he would ask his teacher tomorrow if she remembered what happened.  Then, Danny suddenly began to remember.  He said that the teacher asked him if the letter was "e," and he told her no, but it really was "e."  He is a bit of a tease like his father, but I guess he figured out she wasn't teasing when she told him to go see the principal.  He is ornery, but he has a tender heart too.  He started crying, and she told him to sit back down.  I think he will tell her the right answer next time!  He said, "Mom, after that, I spelled some blends, and I did them right."

Gilbert was telling me about their reading time.  He hasn't brought any reading home.  So, I asked him how he was doing.  He said that he was doing fine but that he got a tear in his eye sometimes because the teacher told him "No, that wasn't right."

Bonnie said that her class moved to a different classroom.  She has been singing songs.  If we start to sing with her, she says, "That's not the way we do it at school."

After the kids played for a while, the boys did their homework.  Then, we had supper and got ready for church.  Joe preached a good message tonight about faith.  There were fourteen in attendance.  Several were out with colds and sickness tonight.  Gilbert got a kick out of watching a man fall asleep.  He leaned over and said, "Mom, is that man praying?  His eyes have been closed for a long time."
