Bonjour,
Kristine and I made it safely to Accra. There was a "preacher" on the bus for the first hour. He got off at the toll bridge. A little later, we stopped to let a passenger off. Someone was making a purchase from one of the roadside vendors out the window, and the bus driver took off. The woman stood up and was yelling at the driver. He pulled into a gas station a minute later; that is the scheduled pit stop. She was still yelling. He stood up and yelled back at her. It was all in Fante; so, we didn't catch what they were saying. They both got off of the bus and ended their argument outside. A few minutes later, we were back on our way again. We got into the bus station about 11:40, but it took us over an hour to get to the other side of town to meet up with the Aarons at the mall.
The Aarons really know their way around Accra. We went to several stores. Then, we tried out the new KFC for supper. It was pretty tasty! After supper, we had ice cream and then went to the guest house.
I talked to Joe and the kids throughout the day. Each time I talked to them, the kids wanted an up to the minute report on exactly what I was doing. They had a good day at school. They went swimming after school. Joe picked up chicken and rice for supper. After supper, they got their homework done.
This morning, I couldn't get a hold of Joe. I was worried that they had overslept. But, they didn't. His phone just wasn't getting reception at the house for some reason. They made it to school early. The kids all said hello to me on the phone before they went in the school gate.
I was up early and heard the Aaron kids outside on the playground. So, I went out there with Emily and the kids. I pushed the kids on the swing and talked to Emily. We went back in and got ready to go. We left the guest house about 9:00 this morning and were busy all day. We went to several new places today and tried two new restaurants; they were both good.
The kids had a good day at school again. Joe said that it rained all day, but they were able to go swimming when they got home from school. They called at supper time to see what I was doing. I talked to them again when we got back to the guest house. They are ready for me to come home with their surprises.
We will leave about 7:00 in the morning to catch the bus to Takoradi. Please pray for safety as we travel.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
