W'apow mu e,

Joe left the house at 5:30 this morning in a taxi.  The taxi took him to the bus station.  He rode a bus to Cape Coast, which is about an hour and a half away.  In Cape Coast, he picked up the Wideners' vehicle and drove it to Accra.  They will fly in at the end of the month and wanted to have their car at the guest house when they arrive.  The guest house serves breakfast and supper on weekdays but not on the weekend.  He got to Accra a little before noon.  Then, he went out to get some food.  A lady who we met in the grocery store yesterday told us about a place that sells real ham in Accra.  Joe went to check that place out today.  He got some ham to make some sandwiches.  He said that it is the real deal.  : )  His flight leaves on Monday morning, but he wanted to make sure that he connected with the people in Cape Coast today to get that vehicle.  He won't have to travel on Sunday this way either.

We had a busy day here at the home front.  First, Danny was trying to knock a bird's nest down outside and broke a light bulb.  Then, Gilbert was moving the plates around at breakfast.  He tried sliding the plate across the table, and it shattered all over the floor.  Danny was more concerned about the Dutch pancake that fell in the floor than the plate.

Bonnie asked me how to say Dutch pancake in Spanish.  She meant in Dutch.  In Dutch it is "pannekoeken."  She kept getting mixed up and calling it "cookapannen."

Bonnie was reading a book to me this morning.  She said that the monkey was very not patient.

A girl who rides to school with them came to play at 9:30 this morning.  So, we did not get homework finished before Bible Club time today.

Before lunch, the kids were outside playing.  Somehow Bonnie fell in the pool.  She can swim and got right back out, but she was soaking wet – shoes and all.  Then, Danny fell in, but he insisted that it was Gilbert's fault.  They hardly ever wear socks and shoes when playing outside (They usually just wear flip flops if they remember shoes at all.), but today they both had socks and shoes on.

Just as we were getting ready for nap time, the power went off.  Here they say, "Light off."  Danny came in and wanted to know if I had called the power company.  Then, he wanted to know if it was "general light off" (power off everywhere) or "load shedding" (power off just in our area).  They did not say either one; they just said that they were coming.  Four hours later, the power came back on.  Then, it went off again this evening for an hour.  I will be a pro at starting the generator.  : )

After naps, we swam for a little while.  We finally got homework finished this evening.

We were supposed to have a new guard come today, but he did not show up.  Pray that he will come in the morning so that we can take a taxi to church.  There has been a report of thieves in the area; so, we need to have someone at the house around the clock.  If the guard does not come, we will have to stay at home.

Nantsew yie!
