Bonjour!

We are still alive and well. The computer man had our computer for a week. When he took it, he was going to be done in two hours, which turned into six days! We have been very busy and haven’t made it to the internet cafe.

Joe had a safe trip to Accra to get the Siekberts. All of their luggage arrived. They made it back home safely.

On Sunday, April 15, we had the first Sunday morning service in Sekondi. There were 75 in attendance. Jackie and I had the 50 children outside under a tarp. It was a blessing to see the excitement of the people.

We have been expecting a truck to come all week. We were talking to one of the guys in the church in Anyama who was in contact with the truck driver. He kept telling us that the truck was coming that day. So, we stayed close to home all week. We have all of the big furniture moved out into the living room. Joe finally spoke to the truck driver. He found another load to take to Nigeria. So, he is supposed to be coming on Friday. The plan for now is to load the truck on Friday and leave for Ivory Coast on Saturday. Flexibility is a big key here! It doesn’t help to get in a hurry because no one else is in a hurry. : )

Brother Siekbert asked Joe to preach on Sunday morning since it would be our last Sunday here. There were two adults saved after Joe preached.

Jackie and I were outside with the kids again. We had 62 outside. They had a tent built; that worked better than the tarp. More of a breeze could come through; it was a hot day. I taught the lesson during the church hour. Danny and Gilbert both decided to cry when it was time for me to teach. A couple different people tried to hold Danny and calm him down, but that didn’t work. I had to take an intermission in the lesson, feed Danny, and then finish the lesson. It was quite a morning!

On Sunday evening, the church gave us a love offering for filling in this past year. We have enjoyed getting to know the people. It will be sad to leave, but we are excited about getting back to Ivory Coast.

We went to see the Wideners yesterday after our institute classes. We had a good time with them. It was sad to say goodbye.

I gave my finals this week so that I can get the grades all averaged before we leave. Joe is going to have Mack Siekbert give his finals next week. Joe will have to make one more trip to Ghana to get the last load and to close the house. He will grade his tests and average his grades when he makes that trip.

Gilbert has been “helping” me pack. I fill the bag, and he empties it. : ) Danny gets around in the walker really well now. He has even tried to help Mom.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
