Bonjour!
Church went well this morning. The decorations from the wedding yesterday were still up. The wedding party all wore their clothes from the wedding.
Gilbert did pretty well in Sunday School. There was a rooster outside that kept crowing. Gilbert kept trying to answer the rooster’s crow.
Brother Davis rings a bell when there are five minutes left of Sunday School. Then, he rings it again when Sunday School should be over. When Gilbert hears that first bell, he starts saying “Daddy!” He thinks it is time to go find Daddy, but we have to wait for that second bell.
When they dismissed the children for Junior Church, Gilbert hopped down from Joe’s lap and went with the other children. Joe went back there with him, but Mrs. Davis said that it would be okay just to leave him in there. She kept an eye on him. She said that he did fine until he heard the rooster again and saw some goats. She had to get him settled back down after that. When he sees those goats, he wants to chase them.

Joe preached this evening. I had nursery duty. There were twenty at church.
Tonight, we read the Christmas story, sang some Christmas carols, and ate popcorn. Gilbert really liked the popcorn! He tried to sing with us too. We had to sing, “The wise man built his house upon a rock . . .” after the Christmas carols. Gilbert had great fun doing the motions. He doesn’t sing the words yet, but he knows the motions.
Gilbert hasn’t even tried to get into the presents. I’m sure he will enjoy opening them in the morning though.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
