Bonjour,

We did school this morning.  Danny had some cutting today, and Gilbert had an art project.  They were both happy about that.  Gilbert had quite a few pages today, but he did a good job of getting them done.  After school, the kids played with the Luthers until lunch time.
After lunch, everyone took a nap except for Gilbert.  After naps, the kids were back outside to play.  It was a nice sunny day today.
Yesterday when I walked up to the Luthers' house with Bonnie, I asked her if she wanted to go on the path or the road.  She said, "I'll take you on the road, Mom; the path is too hard for you."  She prefers the road too, but she was watching out for me. : )
After supper, I trimmed Bonnie's bangs.  The boys thought they needed a hair cut too.  After I cut theirs, I cut mine while I was at it.  After we got cleaned up, I made popcorn.  We are watching Parent Trap.
Danny is always building things with blocks.  He told Gilbert this evening, "Little castles are very important, Gilbert."  Danny likes to make tents on the bunk beds too.  Gilbert asks Danny to help him make his tent because Danny knows how to do it better.  They get along very well, sometimes.  All three of the kids are building with blocks right now.
We talked to Joe.  He and Dan went into Abidjan this morning.  He said that Ouattara's troops were stopping people all over town. When they got stopped, they gave the police a tract.  The man said, "What's this?"  They told him what it was.  He told them that he couldn't read.  That could be a problem in checking people's car papers!  Joe said that there are power lines down all over Bassam; the power has gone off about ten times since they arrived on Wednesday.  The people are trying to go about their business as usual; it will be a long, slow road to recovery for the nation.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
