Bonjour,

Joe and Dan headed back to Ghana this morning.  They made it across the border without any problems.  By the time they got to Aiyinasi, Dan was not feeling well.  It will take some time for him to get completely over the malaria.  Joe got home about 4:30.  We were all excited to see him.
This morning, we did school.  The boys were excited about Daddy coming home.  Gilbert did not want to go play at the Luthers' house because he was afraid he wouldn't be here when Daddy got home.  Julie Luther and the kids came down here for a few minutes.  Julie came to look through the kitchen stuff so that she could take the stuff that she had let us borrow.  The kids gathered their books and blocks that they had let us borrow for the past few months.  Danny cried when they left with the blocks.  I told him that Daddy was bringing his toys.
After lunch, we tried to take naps.  Everyone was too excited about Daddy coming home.  There wasn't any sleeping going on.  So, we got up and cleaned the house to surprise Daddy.  Danny had a pile of toys gathered right in the walkway.  I told him that he needed to put those away.  He said, "I have them there so that they will be ready to see Daddy when he gets here."  I talked him into taking them to his room and letting them greet Daddy from there.
Gilbert sat out on the porch from 3:00 to 4:00 waiting for Daddy.  Joe called and said that he was in town.  I told him that we were out of internet minutes.  He went to get that taken care of.  I told Gilbert that he could go play with the Luthers for a little while to help him pass the time.  When the kids heard the car coming, they charged down the hill yelling, "Daddy!''  Gilbert ran in the house to tell me that Daddy was home.  They helped him carry things in.  They were so excited to see some toys.  They were very happy that their brand new bikes were here.  After supper, they wanted Joe to work on putting those bikes together right away.  He got them all three put together and the tires aired up.  The kids were out on the back porch trying out their new bikes.
Kristine came this evening.  She is going to stay in the guest room downstairs for a few days while Becky is visiting some missionaries in Kumasi.  She helped me do the dishes while the kids played with their new toys.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
