Bonjour,
This was our first Sunday with the new ceiling. It was fun to watch people’s faces as they came in the door and saw the ceiling.
My helper did not come. I had ten for Sunday School. Most of the children under six have not started school and do not speak English. For Junior Church, we combined with the Primary class so that there would be a Fante speaker. Danny was sad that I did not tell my Bible story; I let the other teacher teach his story.

The evening service went well too. After church, Joe listened to football games on the radio via the internet; so, I did not get an e-mail sent. I did not want to interrupt the game! : )
This morning, the kids went back to school. They were able to get a water truck to come to the school, and they are back in business. The kids had a good day. They were bouncing off the walls when they got home. Joe took them swimming so that they could use up some of that energy.
As I was getting supper ready, Gilbert came in and said, “Mom, you are going to just pass out when you see what I learned at school today. But, I can’t show you until supper time.” A little bit later, he came in and asked if he could set the table. I gave him the plates and cups. He got the silverware out himself and put everything in the proper place without any help. After he finished, he said, “What do you think, Mom? That is the first part of my thing that will make you faint.” Then, during supper, he put his napkin in his lap and made sure that we saw that he was using his napkin properly (instead of a shirt sleeve or some such thing). He politely asked to be excused, cleared his things off the table, and gave me a hug and said, “Thank you for the supper, Mom!” Then, he said, “Now you can faint.”
Danny fell asleep on the floor in the bedroom about 7:30. Gilbert and Bonnie made it until bed time.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
