Bonjour,

We were able to get a doctor's appointment for Joe this morning. He
didn't want to drive himself because he didn't know if he would be able
to drive home. Bob and Margie took him to the doctor.

A couple months ago, Joe dropped the platform at the church on his big
toe. The toenail fell off, and the toe was swollen for a few days. He
thought it was probably broken but didn't think there was much that you
can do for a broken toe. The doctor said today that he should have gone
to the doctor when all of that first happened.

A new toenail came in, but part of it came in underneath the skin. He
had a staff infection underneath the toenail. The doctor had to do
quite a bit of cutting on the toe today. He didn't numb it at first,
but after asking "Does that hurt?" a couple times, he decided to numb it.

The toe is all bandaged up. The doctor told Joe that he needs to wear
an open-toed shoe on that foot until the toe completely heals. He also
told Joe to keep his foot propped up all day today. Joe is supposed to
go back to the doctor in the morning to have the dressing changed and
have the toe checked. He is taking an antibiotic for staff infection and
a pain medicine. He has been in quite a bit of pain today. Please
pray that the toe will heal properly and quickly.

The doctor also gave Joe a cane to use. Joe has been using the cane for
protection to keep the boys away from his toe. They didn't try to touch
it until this evening.

Nana played games with the boys this morning. I got my bag packed for
the hospital. We all took a nap this afternoon. Then, Nana took the
boys swimming. It was a bit of a handful for her with both boys by
herself, but they had fun.

I made pizza for supper. Lenell came over to eat with us. After
supper, she cut my hair for me.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
