Bonjour,

We were having technical difficulties yesterday.  So, I did not get an e-mail sent.  The electricity was doing strange things, and our computer had a virus and was not doing right either.
One of the three electrical phases went off on Monday night and came back on Tuesday night.  When it came back on, the voltage was high.  It was right on the borderline of being too high.  Then, this morning, it spiked up to 400 volts.  We turned everything off and called the power company.  They did not fix the problem until about 4:00 this afternoon.  Everything seems to be working fine now.
On Tuesday after Joe took the kids to school, Joe and I went up to the church to work on organizing the books and putting things back in the office and library.  We did a lot of dusting.  We did not make a lot of headway, but every little bit counts.
Joe's Christmas project is trying to help Brother Arthur get his vehicle up and running.  Joe bought a car battery for him, and we took it to Brother Arthur.  He said that he did not know how to put it in.  Joe told him he would help him with that later.
Then, we picked up some canned milk for the Morgans.  Brother Morgan has been very sick.  He has a bad case of pink eye in both eyes and some type of other infection on top of that.  We kept our distance.  We visited with them for a little while before we headed to the school to get the kids.
I talked to Gilbert's teacher to see how he is doing with his tests.  He said that Gilbert is not at the top of the class but that he is passing.  He said that Gilbert does fine orally, but he has trouble when he has to write words down.  We will have to start writing those spelling words more often.
Today, I worked on updating our mailing list most of the day.  There are quite a few changes and corrections.  The power was off all morning due to the high voltage issues; I finally started the generator about 1:00.
Joe went to help Brother Arthur with the battery.  After Joe put the battery in, he had Brother Arthur follow him to the mechanic.  There were several other things that needed to be fixed.  Then, Joe took Brother Arthur to lunch.  When they got back to Brother Arthur's house, he told Joe that it had been one of the best days of his life.  (Brother Arthur is 66; he is the oldest man in our church.)
Joe picked the kids up from school.  They found out today that they just have a half day tomorrow; it is their last day of school for the first trimester.  Tomorrow is our eleventh wedding anniversary.  We had planned to go out for lunch, but we are going to go out for breakfast instead after we take the kids to school.  Then, we will do some shopping in town before we pick the kids up from school.
We had a good church service this evening.  We are enjoying singing Christmas songs.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
