Bonjour,

Joe got up at 4:30 this morning and left at 5:00.  He met Dan along the way.  They made it to the border by 8:00 and were at the Posts' house in Bassam, Ivory Coast, by 11:15.  Joe said that they didn't have any problems at all along the way.  They were happy to find the fish, turtle, and dogs all still doing well.  Things seem to be okay in the country.  It costs a lot more to call from Ghana to Ivory Coast than it does to call from Ghana to the US.  So, we didn't talk long.

This morning, we were eating cereal for breakfast.  Bonnie got a big spoonful and said, "Mom, they are saying, 'Woohoo!' because they got to take a ride on the spoon and the other ones didn't.  The boy is the driver, and his mom and dad are still in the bowl."

I got some laundry started before school today.  It looked like it might rain for a while, but the rain never came.  I actually got two loads of laundry completely dried on the line.  Joe is planning to bring our washer and dryer back with him.  That will be a blessing!

We made it through another day of school.  Gilbert was having a hard time with numbers that come "before" today.  He kept telling me the number that came after.  Danny came over to see what we were doing.  I asked him what his teacher was saying.  He told me that she was just talking about opposites.  I asked him what the opposite of black is; he said, "Orange."  Gilbert said, "No, Danny! It's white."

The kids played with the Luther kids for a little while before lunch.  We tried to take naps but were not very successful.  Bonnie fell asleep on the couch, but neither one of the boys went to sleep.

We made pizza pockets for supper.  We all liked those.  Then, we got ready for church.  We rode to church with the Luthers.  Brother Luther preached tonight.  We had a good service.

Everyone had a snack when we got home and then headed to bed.  Gilbert was obviously very tired because he asked if he could go to bed.  After I thought everyone was asleep, Danny came out and said, "I think I'm going to cry because Daddy isn't here."  I told him that Daddy would be back in a few days and that he was bringing some of our stuff from Ivory Coast with him.  The kids all have a brand new bike that had just arrived in our pallets before we left Ivory Coast.  We just told them recently about the bikes.  They are excited about getting those.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
