The power is still not right, and I don’t think anything will be done this week because of holidays. Oh well, that is the definition of a third-world country! We have three phases, and all three phases here should produce 220 volts. Today the readings were 315, 140, 289. We can’t even use any appliances with voltage like that, or they will burn up! We ran on generator most of the day.
We had a good crowd at church this morning. We are studying the church constitution, and I was not aware of how much the people here did not understand the constitution. I spent a good while this morning trying to correct some problems that have come up due to the lack of understanding about what has been taught by other missionaries. It was not that the other missionaries were teaching something that was not right, but that the people had misunderstood and the teaching had lost something in translation. Anyway, Sunday School this morning was interesting, and no one fell asleep.
After church this morning, we got home, and I did not feel well at all. My head was hurting, and I tried to rest. The kids were all acting like they did not feel well either, and both Bonnie and Danny are running a fever. Lo woke up from her nap, and she did not feel well. I asked Dan to preach, and we stayed home. Tuesday is a day off of school; so, we will keep the kids home tomorrow and see if we can’t get them well for school on Wednesday.
A demain,
Joe, Lo, Gil, DJ, and Boo
