Bonjour,

Joe took the kids to school this morning.  When he got back, the welder came.  The welder worked on the porch for about an hour.  Then, the power went off.  It was off from 10:00 this morning until 7:00 tonight.  The generator was not powerful enough to run the welding machine.  So, he will have to come back another day.  The contractors worked on the power lines today; they will probably be doing it tomorrow too.

I got some things done around the house.  My helper came this morning.  She comes twice a week.

This afternoon, Joe went to get the kids from school.  Danny said that he almost had to go see the principal, but he stood in the back of the classroom instead.  He said that he didn’t write his letters like the teacher said to do it.  Bonnie said that she didn’t have to go see the principal.  Gilbert did not have homework tonight, but Danny did.

LF watched the house while we went into town for a little while this evening.  We ate at Elma, a little Lebanese restaurant; got fuel so that they would not run out on the way to school in the morning; and headed back home.  The power was still off when we got home but came back on shortly thereafter.

Bonnie is only three but has quite the vocabulary.  Her new words lately have been “frustrated” and “aggravated.”

Gilbert was telling me that Bonnie broke Joe’s sunglasses on the way home from school.  I asked Gilbert if Daddy knew that she had done that.  He said, “Yes, he knows; he was grumpy and jealous.”  I explained to him what jealous meant, and he remembered hearing that in his lesson about Jacob and Esau.  As soon as Danny heard mention of Jacob and Esau, he needed to tell me the whole story about them.  After all of that, Gilbert said, “Well, he wasn’t jealous, but he was grumpy.”

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
