Merry Christmas!!

Joe woke up early this morning with a bad case of the stomach bug.  He was not sure if he would make it through the whole morning, but he decided to try.  He made it through.
We started out with just a handful of kids this morning, but by the end of the morning service, there were over 100 children there.  We had made up 100 goody bags to give away to the children.  I wrote a number on each child’s hand and stopped when we got to 100.  I had some cookies and candy for the extras.  I think we ended up with 114 children.  There were quite a few adults and teens as well.
During the morning service, the three different Sunday school classes each sang a song and said a verse.  The majority of my class is under the age of four now, and many of them don’t participate yet.  I sat on the front row and sang and said the verse with them, and we made it through.
Toward the end of Sunday school, Danny got a sucker for saying a verse.  He dropped the sucker and it broke all over the floor.  I told him he could get another one.  Then, we lined up to go to the auditorium to sing.  I thought we would be outside for a few minutes and did not think any more of Danny’s sucker.  When we went into the auditorium, he had the sucker in his hand.  We sang “Angels We Have Heard on High” and did motions with it.  Danny decided that he could not do the motions with the sucker in his hand; so, he just put the sucker in his mouth.  Joe captured all of this on video.
After church, we were supposed to go visit Brother Blay.  Joe was too sick and needed to get home.  So, Dan headed up the group that went to visit Brother Blay.  He took our plate of goodies for us.  Dan said that Brother Blay was very touched by the gifts and the Christmas carols.
Most of the people went to their home village after the morning service.  We did not have an evening service tonight.  It was a good thing because Joe would not have been able to make it.
After naps, I finished up making homemade ice cream.  Then, we opened presents.  Joe sat in his chair and made it through the festivities.
Our sending church in Texas called to wish us a Merry Christmas and sang to us.  That made us feel special!
We had pizza and ice cream.  The ice cream did not turn out so well.  My milk mixture must have been too hot and scrambled the eggs.  Gilbert said, “Mom, this ice cream tastes a little weird; it is crunchy.”  Needless to say, we did not eat much ice cream.  We will have to try it again some other day.
The kids had fun trying out all of their new toys.  No one wanted to go to bed this evening, except Joe that is.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
