Bonjour,
Joe was feeling better this morning but was all run down again this evening. But, I think he is on the mend.
At bed time last night, Danny was wanting to glue airplanes together. He was up at 5:45 to resume his project. Before the other two kids got up, he had made four airplanes for Gilbert, three for himself, and two for Bonnie.
Bonnie was slowly eating her breakfast. Joe told her that she needed to eat to fill up her guts. She said, "I don't have guts, do I, Mom?" I told her that she did. I told her that we call the outside the stomach and that the guts are on the inside. She said, "I need to go tell the brothers that they have guts inside their stomach."
I did some more sewing this morning. Joe did some typing and has been getting caught back up on filtering water. He had to get the propane bottles filled on the way to get the kids from school.
The kids had a good day at school. I went swimming with them this afternoon.
One of the men in the church called just about supper time and said that something bad had happened at the church and that Joe needed to come. We were thinking the worst, but some kids had just broken the lock on the gate and were playing in one of the Sunday school rooms.
Bonnie was helping me peel eggs for deviled eggs tonight. She said, "Mom, I will continue doing this, and you can continue too. Do you know what continue means, Mom? It means to hurry up." I laughed and told her that continue means to keep doing what you are doing. She said, "Ohhh!"
Gilbert came inside screaming. He and Danny were playing in the sand pile. For some reason, they decided to move a cement block, and it got dropped on Gilbert's big toe. The toe is scraped and bruised, but we don't think it is broken. He will definitely lose the toenail. He has been hobbling around all night. Bonnie got the stick horse for him so that he could use it as a crutch. He said, "Mom, I don't think I can go to school tomorrow because I can't even walk."
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
