W'apow mu e,

We had a good day at church.  I had all of the kids for Sunday School and the younger kids for junior church.  We had some visitors today.  Esther, who had come to the thanksgiving service after the funeral, came today with her daughter.

Gifty, another girl who visited, raised her hand for prayer and came to talk to Joe after the service.  She was a twelve-year-old girl who was scared to death.  She had gone to some type of a prayer camp.  As soon as she walked in, they grabbed her and said that she had the spirit of thievery.  They used her as their “example” all week and kept praying over her.  When her mother did not take her back to the prayer camp, they came to their house and said that they had a feeling that some witches were out to kill that girl.  She wanted to join the church to keep the witches away from her.  Joe explained that the church could not save her.  He told her how she could be saved.  Mrs. Mary also explained everything in Fante to make sure that she understood.  Then, Gifty told us in English that she understood that she was a sinner and that Jesus alone could save her.  She prayed and accepted Christ as her Savior.

After the service, Joe dismissed the children and visitors to meet with the adults.  I thought that everyone had been dismissed and dismissed my class.  So, I sat on the steps to keep the children outside until the meeting was over.  Bonnie thought it was a great teaching opportunity with all of us sitting there on the steps.  She was our teacher.  She was combining things that she has learned at school and at church in “teaching” us.  She pulled Gilbert up beside her and said, “You are being so attentive!  Good job!”  We always sing “Burdens are lifted at Calvary” at the close of the service.  When she heard them singing that inside, she had us sing it too.  When we were done singing, she said, “Don’t forget the announcements!”  I guess she does listen!  : )

We came home, ate lunch, took naps, and headed back to church again.

We had a good evening service with fourteen in attendance.
