Bonjour,
Joe went visiting with Matt this morning. They had some good visits.
I fed the boys lunch early and put them down for a nap. We had to leave for a wedding at 1:30, and Sarah was going to keep the boys for us. So, I wanted them to get a nap before they went over there.
Our dryer quit working a couple days ago. The dryer repairman showed up about fifteen minutes before we needed to leave. But, he was able to find the problem and fix it temporarily until we can order the part. It is a blessing to have a working dryer again.
We took the boys over to the Litsons’ house and headed into town. It was the wedding of Jean-Luc, one of the Bible Institute graduates, and Vivian, the lady that works at our house.
There was a civil ceremony at the town hall first. It was supposed to start at 2:00 but didn’t begin until almost 3:00. It was a large room full of people. There were windows along one side of the room but none on the other side. It got quite warm in there as we sat and waited.
The actual mayor doesn’t live in Anyama. So, there are several mayor’s assistants who fill in for him when he isn’t there. One of the assistants read the laws. Then, he read the vows. He told them that when they answered, he wanted the people on the street to hear them say, “Yes.” Both the bride and groom said it quite loudly, I thought, but he made the bride say it again.
Then, the other two mayor’s assistants gave some words of wisdom. After the papers were signed, everyone was dismissed to go to the church ceremony.

The church ceremony had been going for over an hour and was still far from over. I had gotten too hot. So, Joe took me on home. Luc and Morganne Mach rode with us so that they could play with the other kids for awhile. Gilbert stayed over there to play until Luc went home. I took Danny home, and he fell asleep.
After the wedding was over, one of the families that lives in a village outside of Anyama called Joe to see if he could give them a ride home. When he went to pick them up, he ended up with about thirty people in the vehicle. Everyone who had come from out that way needed a ride.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
