Bonjour!
Joe headed into town to get the trailer hitch mounted, but the car
overheated on his way. So, he went straight to the mechanic. He spent all
morning there. They fixed the fan and cleaned the radiator. Then, they
filled the radiator with coolant instead of water, and the vehicle is
running much cooler now.
Joe came home for lunch and then went back into town to get the trailer
hitch mounted. That took all afternoon. He stopped at the internet café on
his way home and got home just in time for supper.
I graded some papers and did some work on the computer in between taking
care of the boys.
Gilbert has several pound puppies. He had them all spread out on a blanket
on the living room floor. He would pet each one and then tell it to “Seep”
(“sleep”). He brought a couple to me. He has named a couple of the dogs
after the dogs in Ivory Coast. A spotted one is Charlie, and another one is
Pete. Charlie is the Engelharts’ dog, and Pete is our dog. The rest of
them are “doggy” or “puppy.”

Bonjour!
Joe went visiting this morning. He didn’t have any car trouble today.
After lunch, we went to pick out tile for our house in Ivory Coast. We are
going to take some of that with us when we go this next time.
After naps, we went into town to look at the new grocery store. It still
wasn’t officially opened, but the man let us look. He told us we could take
whatever we wanted and pay for it on Monday when they open.
Then, Joe took us out to eat. We went to Planter’s Lodge. Gilbert heard us
talking about going to eat, and he started saying, “Supper.” He was ready
to eat!
We found out that Opa, my Dad’s father, is in the hospital. We called and
talked to him for a minute. Please pray for his health needs. He has some
blood clots and some other problems.
We didn’t make it to the internet café today; so, you will get several day’s
worth of e-mail next time.

Bonjour!
Church went well today. Gilbert has the diarrhea; so, I kept the boys at
home.
Danny has really taken a liking to the jungle gym. He has a strong grip. He
grabs the rings and shakes them all about. Gilbert has to get in on the

The power was back on at the church in Sekondi this evening. The tenant
must have finally paid his electric bill. That is a blessing!

Bonjour!
We taught all four of our classes today since tomorrow is a holiday. It is
Ghana’s 50th birthday. I taught from 8:30 to 10:30, and Joe taught from
10:30 to 12:30.
Joe went into town this afternoon to get some things accomplished before our
trip to Ivory Coast. On the way back home, he noticed that the water pump
on the vehicle is starting to go out. We had planned to go to Ivory
Coaston Wednesday, but we are going to wait until the end of the
month.
Gilbert was happy to see Daddy when he got home. He squeals with delight
when he hears the vehicle outside the gate. Then, he runs to the door
saying, “Daddy!” all the way there.

Today is Ghana’s 50th birthday. Everything is closed in town. We had a
nice restful day at home.
Danny is starting to be more active. He is rolling over now. He smiles a
lot.
I think Gilbert played with every toy imaginable today. We had quite a
clean up party this evening. Gilbert knows now where things go. I had the
car box and the toy drawer. Joe was collecting dominos. Gilbert was the go
between, taking things to the proper person.

Bonjour!
We went into town this morning to go grocery shopping and run a couple
errands. We discovered that today is also a holiday. We asked someone what
the holiday today is, and they said that it is a holiday to recover from the
holiday! What next!!
The grocery store was one of the few things that was open. We were glad
about that!
Joe is headed to the internet café now so that he can get these sent before
church.
Please continue to pray for Opa. He had to have emergency surgery on Monday
night for internal bleeding.
