Family Updates

Monday morning started with familiar routines. Laura and Bonnie returned to their busy schedule at Central Baptist Christian School. Laura continues to serve as assistant principal while training someone to take her place before we leave for the mission field. Bonnie, now a senior, stays active in many areas of school and church. We are so proud of her—just don’t tell her we said that!

On the Road Again

While they settled into school life, I repacked and set out for Spring, Texas. My first stop was Candlestick Baptist Church. Nearly 25 years ago, God knit our hearts with the people there. Attending their annual Camp Meeting always feels like coming home.

The preaching was a blessing. Guest speakers included Brother Allen Gullick, Brother Bud Stiltner, and Brother Kevin Murdoch. I had never met them before, but deputation brings the joy of meeting new people who love the Lord.

A Stop in Louisiana

Next, I traveled to Fundamental Baptist Church of Livingston. Pastor Joey Wampler and his family welcomed me warmly. It was encouraging to see another church excited about serving Christ. All across America, God’s people are standing strong in faith.

Thankful for God’s Creation

On my way home Thursday, I stopped halfway for a walk at Gator Chateau. The peaceful park reminded me of the beauty we enjoy in our country. I thank God every day for the freedom to experience places like this.

A Big Step for Danny

When I got home, Danny was waiting with exciting news. After saving and working, he was ready to buy a car. We drove to Tyler, Texas, to see a 2011 Toyota Camry. The car had low mileage, a clean history, and brand-new tires. Danny negotiated the deal himself, and I was proud of him. We returned late that night, and I was thankful to sleep in my own bed.

Looking Ahead

Friday gave me time to catch up at home. On Saturday, I will be performing the ceremony my cousin’s wedding, and then we will head out again to travel again for meetings in the Dallas area. God continues to open doors for us.

God Is Building Our Team

This week, several churches voted to support us monthly. Each one is another reminder that God is putting together a team of people to hold the ropes as we carry the gospel to Ghana and West Africa.

You can be part of this journey too. One simple way to help is by buying a copy of my book, That’s My Goat – And Other Missionary Stories. Every purchase helps us move closer to Africa and share Christ with those who have never heard.
