Bonjour,

Joe went into Anyama this morning. He checked the post office box and
then went to measure the pipe for Lenell's water pump. The pump has
been leaking, and the pipe needs to be replaced.

The boys and I were picking up toys this morning. Danny kept getting
sidetracked. I told him that he needed to help us pick up toys. He
said, "I busy right now, Mom." He had to pick up toys anyway, that
stinker. Gilbert called Danny a skunk the other day. So, Danny has
been trying to say "skunk," but it comes out "stunk."

Lenell came to watch the children. Joe and I went into Abidjan to get
the pipe for Lenell's water pump. We went to a couple different stores,
and they didn't have what we were looking for. At the second place, Joe
heard a guy talking on the phone. He was speaking in English and
mentioned several plumbing parts. When he got off the phone, Joe talked
to him and explained what he was looking for. We just needed a piece of
pipe that was about 20cm long. The man said that they only sell the
whole 6m pipe. But, he is a parts supplier for a mining company. He
called someone that he knew. He got off the phone and asked us where he
could meet us with the pipe when it was ready.

Joe took me to the new French restaurant for lunch. The food was very
good. Then, we walked around the mall until the man with the pipe got
there. He wouldn't let us give him any extra money for all his trouble;
he was very nice. Things like that only happen to Joe. : )

All three kids were asleep when we got home. The people from the phone
company came while we were gone. They finally got the phone line
replaced; it was stolen on December 23. Our phone is back up and running.

After naps, we went swimming. Danny and Gilbert are so excited about
learning to swim. They don't quite have it down yet, but they are
working on it.

A few days ago, Bonnie was trying to crawl. Joe said, "Come look at
your daughter." Gilbert picked up on that. The first time, he said,
"Mom, come look at your sister." I told him that Bonnie was my
daughter. So, now he has it down: "Mom, come look at your daughter." I
don't know who is more eager for Bonnie to crawl, Bonnie or Gilbert.

Danny had a fever during the night last night, but he hasn't had one
today. The front part of both molars has broken through; maybe the rest
will come in soon.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
