We had a rainy day today. It rained most of the day. Joe made some visits this morning. He got to witness to the two young adults that we visited last week.
Gilbert wanted to do “a big project” today. He decided to sort the toys in their toy box. He dumped the toys out and wiped the toy box out. He found his Leapster in the toy box. Danny wanted to know if we had some batteries. I found batteries. They got sidetracked from their toy sorting with playing games on the Leapster. After a while, I told them it was time to go back to the bedroom project. In about five minutes, I heard a “Mom, will you help us?” I helped them, and we got the job done.
Joe has been following the Tour de France. He was talking about the guy who was in the lead yesterday. He said, “He was smoking!” Danny said, “He was smoking a cigarette?” We told him that he meant that he was going fast. Danny said, “Ohhh!!”
Joe went with Mack Siekbert this afternoon. After he left, I thought the kids were asleep and lay down for a little while. When I got up, I found the kids in the bath tub. They had gone outside to play in the mud instead of taking a nap. After baths, it was time for Bible Club. None of the neighborhood children came today because of all the rain. Danny said, “Well, we still have three kids here. Can we still have it, Mom?” So, we went out to the porch and had Bible Club with just the three of them. They thought it was great.
After Bible Club, all three kids were doing dishes. Gilbert was the washer. Danny was the rinser, and Bonnie was the dryer. They did a pretty good job. Usually I find some rejects, but I didn’t today.
Kristine made supper this evening. It was very good. It was nice to have a break from cooking.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
