Bonjour,
This morning, the kids needed their jackets to go to school. They did not take them yesterday, and they had goose bumps. The teachers were concerned about them. During Harmattan, the mornings and evenings are much cooler than normal. It was in the 60's this morning; that is COLD for West Africa!!
Joe and I went into town this morning. First, we stopped to get some plumbing parts so that Joe could get everything working with the well pump. The Luthers will be coming to Takoradi on Thursday. We picked up a few groceries for them. I am going to make a meal for them on Thursday. I needed to get a few things for that too. We went to the grocery store. Then, we went to the market circle to divide and conquer. I ventured inside the circle to get vegetables. Joe went to the cold store which sells frozen chicken and hotdogs. Then, we headed back home.
After lunch, I worked on getting a couple of Joe's pairs of pants ready to hem. I rested for a little while when Joe left to pick the kids up from school.
No one had homework today. The kids helped Joe work on the pump outside while I got supper ready. Danny was excited when he found out that we were having sweet and sour meatballs and rice. He said, "That's my bestest thing, Mom! Thank you!"
After supper, we took a taxi to pick up our new vehicle. Everyone was excited about that. It rides very nice, and the AC gets very cold! Gilbert said that he guessed he was going to have to curl up in a ball to keep warm. There are vents for the back seat too. I had to point all of their vents up toward the ceiling because they got too cold.
The man who sold us the vehicle had another box of toys for each of the kids tonight. They could hardly wait until we got home so that they could check out those toys. Bonnie got a tea set for her dolls, and the boys got a mat that has a bunch of wooden pieces that go with it – houses, boats, trees, cars, etc. Bed time came around too soon for all of them.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
