Bonjour!

A note from Nana. Africa is beautiful.

It was an eventful day. Laura was at the hospital all night last night. She was hot. We did take her a fan yesterday evening, but that was little comfort. By morning she was sick, throwing up and had a headache. The doctor said she already had all the symptoms of an epidermal so he just put her under completely instead of doing an epidermal. I am sure the anesthesia affected her when she woke up. The nurses were coming down the hall with her on a gernie bumping into each door jam, corner, and wall. Laura was crying. She didn’t know where she was, or what was happening except she was hurting and being bumped around. Joe was shocked. True to form he helped put her in bed and hugged her until she knew he was there. He had to stand on the top end of the bed to lift the sheet she was on to the bed. He had already seen one lady dumped in bed and was determined Lo wouldn’t be done that way. Life in Africa is soooo different than in America. They said they don’t usually give Moms more pain medicine. Joe said they would give more to Laura. The doctor agreed. Lo was more comfortable after she had gotten settled into bed. I was able to hold little Danny all through that grand entry into the woman’s ward. Lo will have to stay in the ward until the morning. Danny will have to stay in bed with her. That is standard procedure. We weren’t allowed to stay in the ward. When we go back to the hospital she can be transferred to a private room with air conditioning. We will be able to stay with her there.

I couldn’t believe the nurse coming in to tell Lo to quit crying and that she was not sick. She told her to sit up and for us not to help her. I told Lo she could cry if she wanted to. Lo looks beautiful.

Joe told Lo to call him in the middle of the night if they wouldn’t help her with what she needed. What a time for his car to be in the shop.

It is bed time. I still can’t believe I am actually here.

Danny is beautiful. He has a full head of curly dark hair. He has a little round face. His hands are big with a strong grip. He has long thin feet with long toes. I just love to hold him.

Thank you for praying for Lo and the baby today. God is so good to take care of them.

We send our love,

Nana
