Bonjour,

Today is Joe’s 34th birthday.  He requested biscuits and gravy for his birthday breakfast.  Danny helped me cut out the biscuits.  As we were getting ready to sit down, Gilbert said, “I want to sit by the birthday Daddy.”  Bonnie said, “I want to sit by the birthday Mommy.”  Bonnie and Danny’s main concern was when we were going to have the birthday party.

Joe took a taxi into town to recharge the internet and the electric card.  He was back home in time for lunch.  He didn’t get his car back on his birthday; the mechanic said maybe tomorrow.  Joe said that probably means Friday or Saturday.

We did school this morning.  It was another rough morning.  Boys can certainly be hard headed!  : )

We had invited the Luthers and April for Joe’s birthday supper.  April came down about 4:00 and helped me get things ready; that was a blessing.  We had barbecued chicken, baked beans, potato salad, garlic cheddar biscuits, and cole slaw (Julie made that).  Joe prefers pie over cake.  So, I made a buttermilk pie (Joe’s favorite) and a chocolate cream pie.  We had a good time of fellowship with the Luthers.  Gilbert wanted to know where the birthday banner was.  I told him that all of that stuff was still in Ivory Coast.  I didn’t have any birthday candles here either; so, we just had him blow out a candle.  Danny helped him blow it out.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
