Bonjour,
The election results have still not been announced. Both candidates are declaring fraud. It has been turned over to the Constitutional Council. According to the constitution, they have 24 hours to declare whether the elections are valid or not.
We did school this morning. The electricity problems seem to have been resolved. It was off yesterday afternoon for a couple hours, but during that time, they were switching us to a different transformer. The power had been dipping very low at night, but it has been steady since we were put on the new transformer. We can even run the air conditioner at night. That is a blessing!
The water is still being turned off during the day. But, it has been coming on at night and refilling the tank. It is a daily routine to refill all water bottles just in case they are needed.
There is a big tree in the Posts' front yard. The Post boys climb right up it. Gilbert and Danny are trying to figure it out. They have to be lifted up. Then, they just sit where you put them. That is fine with me. We don't need any broken limbs right now since we can't go anywhere.
All three children were helping me make tortillas for supper tonight. They were rolling them into balls for me. Both boys dropped one of their balls on the floor. Bonnie only got one ball done because that was all the dough that the boys would give her. I have a tortilla press that flattens and cooks the tortillas at the same time; I did that part.
We had our own church service tonight since we can't leave the house. We sang some Christmas songs. Danny kept requesting "Jingle Bells," but we told him that it wasn't a church song. I guess we could have sung "Gospel Bells." All of the children listened well.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
