Bonjour,
It was another interesting day in the Consford household. This morning, Danny was playing so nicely in the living room until one of the wooden chairs fell off of the little table and smashed the pinky on his right hand. The leg of the chair came down hard on his finger. Blood went everywhere.
We cleaned up the finger and put a bandaid on it. We gave Danny some pain medicine, and he calmed down. He took a nap for awhile. When he woke up, he had worked the bandaid off. I looked at his finger again. When we looked at it earlier, we just thought there was a piece of skin that was loose. But when I took a second look after it had stopped bleeding, I noticed that there was a piece of his finger outside the skin. That chair hit so hard that the end of his finger exploded.
Joe and Gilbert had gone to Anyama. As soon as they got back, we took Danny over to Margie and Sarah to see what they thought. With the piece of flesh outside like that, we knew that something needed to be done. So, we called the doctor. It would be the lunch hour by the time we could get to that side of town, but he said that he would wait for us.

The doctor was able to cut the little piece off without any antisthetic. He said that Danny wouldn’t even really feel it. Danny didn’t even cry when he cut it off. Danny was more upset about being held still than anything. Gilbert was worried about what they were doing to Danny. I told him that they were making it feel better.
Joe was supposed to meet Dan this afternoon to look at houses. So after we got some lunch, we all headed to Bassam. The boys and I stayed with Jennifer and her boys while Joe and Dan did some house hunting. They found a couple possibilities. We will have to do some more checking.
We ate supper with the Posts since it was already dark. That way we didn’t get stuck in Abidjan during the busy evening traffic. Both boys fell asleep on the way home.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
