August 2025
The month of August has already been a whirlwind of activity as we press forward toward getting back to Ghana as soon as possible. We know that God is directing our steps, and our desire is to follow His leading every step of the way.
We began the month with a meeting at one of our oldest former supporting churches—Union Baptist Church in Florien, LA. What a blessing it was to be there! We enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting new folks in the congregation.
The very next day, Danny and I flew to the Midwest Christian Boys’ Football Camp. This was our twelfth year attending; and every time we go, it feels like we are with family. I had the opportunity to share a missionary story and present our ministry to West Africa. The Lord truly blessed; twelve pastors in that service promised to take us on for support! But the greatest blessing was seeing the altar full every service and witnessing over 1,000 decisions made by campers and staff.
The following Sunday, Laura and I were back in the Houston area. We visited a former supporting church in the morning, and they graciously took us on for support again. That evening, we were in a new church, and their warm welcome was a real encouragement to us.
Just a few days later—on the Wednesday after football camp—Laura, Bonnie, and I were in a church in Henderson, TX. We had never been there before, but it was such a blessing. We saw old friends and met many new believers. That evening, Bonnie even taught a missionary story in the Children’s Church!
Speaking of missionary stories—on August 28, my new book will be available for sale. It is a collection of over thirty true stories from our years on the field in Ghana and Ivory Coast. The book is called That’s My Goat! and I believe it will be a blessing to you. You can find out how to order it on our website: consfords.com.
Please continue to pray for us as we fill our calendar and travel to meetings. Pray that the Lord will provide our needed support quickly so that we can return to the work He has called us to in West Africa.
