The Amanda Ranch
A Place to Reset
T he stadium was shaking. Eighty thousand voices crashing together, helmets colliding, pads popping. Down in the trenches stood a wall of men known as the “Great Wall of Florida.” And in that wall was Billy Hinson—built to protect.
Years later, I would meet that same man… not on a football field, but in a place where the battles look very different.
I first heard Billy speak at Man Camp in Dwight, Illinois. You notice him immediately—not because he tries to stand out, but because he doesn’t have to.
He’s still built like a lineman. But when he talks, it’s about people. Hurting people. Tired people. People trying to keep serving God… but running on empty.
Sitting there, I remember thinking—this man isn’t just talking. He’s going to do something about it.
Out in the Desert… Something Different
Now I’m sitting at The Amanda Ranch as I write this.
The first thing I noticed wasn’t the view.
It was the smell.
Juniper.
That clean, earthy scent that makes you slow down whether you want to or not.
This is the desert—but it doesn’t feel like one. Artesian springs run through the property, turning it into a green oasis. Everything here is alive.
The Amanda Ranch: A Place to Reset
The Amanda Ranch a place to Reset isn’t trying to impress you. It’s built for something deeper.
People come here carrying things they don’t talk about much—loss, burnout, grief, pressure. And for the first time in a long time… they stop.
No noise. No rush. Just space to think, breathe, and meet with God again.
Even the small details here feel intentional. Nothing loud. Nothing rushed. Just quiet design that gives your mind permission to slow down.
And in a world that rewards constant motion, that kind of quiet feels rare.
No Cost. No Catch. Just Ministry.
And here’s the part that doesn’t fit the normal pattern—this place is completely free.
No packages. No pricing. No pressure. Just a man and his wife who decided that if people are hurting, they should have somewhere to go.
“We all struggle differently and hurt differently, but our need of hope and to know there will be a tomorrow is the same.”
From the Trenches to the Brokenhearted
Years ago, Billy stood in the trenches protecting quarterbacks.
Today, he’s standing in a different kind of gap—helping people who are tired, overwhelmed, and close to giving up.
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me… to bind up the brokenhearted…”
Isaiah 61:1
