Bonjour,

All of the children seem to be feeling better today. Danny is
completely recovered. Bonnie is on the mend. Gilbert didn't have a
fever today but still had some aches and pains. I think I just have a cold.

Joe went to church. I kept the sick ones at home. There were 72 in
attendance this morning. Joe took a couple people from the Anyama
church to help with Sunday school since Romeo is still in the village
and I was at home with the children. Joe taught his Sunday school class
and preached the morning message.

Danny did some funny things today. This morning, I told him that he had
a bad attitude. He said, "We don't say that, Mom." He had gotten in
trouble the other day for telling me to watch my attitude. A little
later, he wanted a sucker. I was doing dishes. He said, "May I please
have a sucker, Mom?" I told him that I was busy and that he would have
to wait a minute. He brought me the dish towel and said, "Here, you can
dry your hands." Tonight, he fell asleep on the couch with a bowl of
popcorn in his lap and his hand in the bowl. I took the bowl away, and
he woke up right away saying, "Where's my chips?" He took the bowl back
and promptly fell asleep again. Joe came to get him, and the same thing
happened again. When Joe put him in bed, he sat up and said, "I need my
chips, Dad."

This afternoon, we had a big storm with heavy rain and strong winds.
Many of the houses in Anyama lost their roof. The wind knocked over two
of the walls for the new school room. Joe had gone up to the Anyama
church after lunch because the Lebanese man was coming to see the
progress on the buildings. The storm came just before the man arrived.
Joe saw the walls fall down. They lost about 250 bricks. The Lebanese
man said he would send more cement tomorrow.

Our power was off all afternoon due to the storm. When the power did
come back on, the voltage was very low. It was running at 100 volts
instead of 220. So, we ran the generator until the voltage was
regulated enough so that it wouldn't ruin anything. Gilbert was upset
about the power being off. He told me that the fans and lights were bad
because they would not come back on.

Joe preached again this evening. There were 27 in attendance tonight.

Bonnie is now saying Ma Ma and jump. Joe holds her and lets her jump in
his lap.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
