Bonjour,
Happy 4th of July!
We had a fun day today. We left for Abidjan at 10:00. Lenell rode with
us. We stopped to get bread for our picnic. Then, we stopped at Orca
to return the faulty regulator. They gave Joe trouble at first; but,
when they took a closer look, they realized that instead of being 2000
watts as it said it was, it was only 500 watts. No wonder it ruined the
dryer!! They gave us our money back for the regulator.
We were the second family to arrive at the ocean for our picnic. The
Posts were already there. The Engelharts arrived next followed shortly
by the Machs, Tammy, and some people that are visiting. The Machs have
a couple from Ohio who are here for six weeks to learn some French and
help out in the work. There are also two nurses visiting from PCC.
Tammy's parents are also here.
Gilbert had been looking forward to flying his kite. But, when Joe went
to get the kite ready, some of the support sticks were missing. One of
the other boys had a small kite; Gilbert thought it was just great
because he could make that one go all by himself.

We ate lunch. Then, we celebrated Jennifer's birthday. Lenell also had
made some special little cakes and cookies to celebrate Bonnie's birth.
Bonnie got some nice gifts. She got some little pink toys, some cute
little shoes, and some cute clothes.
The guys played football in the sand. Some of the ladies walked along
the beach with the small children. Danny loves to wade into the ocean;
Gilbert was a little leery of doing that this time since Mommy wasn't
down there with him. I sat and talked to Tammy's mom while she held
Bonnie. She was practicing up for their first grandchild who will be
arriving in about three weeks.
It was supper time by the time we left the ocean. The Machs wanted to
take their guests to a Lebanese restaurant. So, we showed them where a
good restaurant was and ate with them. We had a good time of
fellowship. Bonnie was fussy the whole time we were in the restaurant;
she stopped crying as soon as we walked out the door.
We got home at 21:00. We gave the boys baths and put them to bed.
Danny was running a fever and not feeling well; he woke up several times
before Joe got him to go down for good. I just got Bonnie down, and I
am headed to bed too.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
